About Warmer Homes

Warmer Homes offer two programmes supporting fully funded measures in your home, these are the Warmer Homes programme and the Gas Central Heating programme. 

Warmer Homes Programme

The Warmer Homes programme is funded by the Government’s Green Homes Grant Local Authority Delivery & Home Upgrade Grant schemes.  Portsmouth City Council, in partnership with the local authorities shown here, has secured funding from these schemes to offer grant funding to improve the energy efficiency of eligible homes. The programme is available until the 31st March 2023. 

The Warmer Homes programme aims to raise the energy efficiency of low income and low energy performance homes. There is funding available under the programme for the following energy efficiency measures:  

  • Solid Wall Insulation 

  • Cavity Wall Insulation 

  • Underfloor Insulation 

  • Loft Insulation 

  • Room-in-Roof Insulation 

  • Air Source Heat Pump 

  • Solar PV Panels  

  • Park Home Insulation  

  • High Heat Retention Storage Heaters  

  • Heating Controls

Gas Central Heating Programme

The Gas Central Heating programme is fully funded by the Warm Homes Fund, which has been established by National Grid and is administered by Affordable Warmth Solutions, and which supports projects tackling fuel poverty across Britain.  

The programme offers fully funded gas central heating systems and gas connection (where required) for households without central heating. Funding is available for households currently reliant on electric heating, gas fires/room heaters or no permanent heating.
